I shop for my son like I shop for myself. He only has 2 pairs of shoes per season. In Winter, he has a pair of boots and a pair of sneakers. In the Summer, he has a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. Because he has only 2 pairs, I usually invest in shoes that are a certain quality hoping they will wear well and last the season. He wore CROCS all last summer and he loved them, but I didn’t. I felt like he was always tripping in them. So this year I was hoping to find a better option. Fate intervened while I was visiting friends in Nashville a couple weeks ago and I went to a kid’s consignment party with my friend. It was there I found the most adorable camo print TOMS Classics for my son. (I checked and the camo is no longer a current offering) Best part, they were $10. With our super warm weather in Milwaukee two weeks ago, he was actually able to take them for a test drive. At first I was nervous because they kept slipping off the back of his heels. But after wearing them 2 days, that didn’t happen anymore. Not sure if it was him just getting used to them? But now, they are perfect. Easy on, easy off. And because boys have such boring clothes, in general, it has been nice to have a little pop. Once his feet outgrow these, I am already planning on getting him another pair. And I won’t feel guilty spending a little more than $10 for them knowing they fit well and for every pair you purchase, TOMS gives a new pair of shoes to a child in need. One for One. I have my eye on the ones in the photo. They are called the Chambray Bimini Tiny Toms. But if I had a girl, I would be all over the Glitters.
